My Journey with Dear Jane
I have a quilting passion for 2 things, Hand Applique and The Dear Jane Quilt. I’ve been a D.J. enthusiast since 2000 when I saw one on display.
The original quilt was made in 1863 by Jane Stickle during the Civil War. It consists of 225 5 inch finished blocks and triangles on the border. Jane named her quilt “In War Time” and it’s on public display at the Benningtion Museum in Vermont during the fall.
Thanks to Brenda Papadakis who wrote a book on the quilt, quilters worldwide have made a masterpiece of their own.
I enjoy giving workshops and lecturing on the history of the quilt.
